Lakeside Stillness in Garda
Perfect in every way

I think this is one of those quietly lovely stays that feels immediately reassuring.
Right on the lakeside promenade, with the Old Town just a few steps away, this is the perfect, gentle, elegant base for a slow and comforting week by the water.
Why this feels like a Gentle Escape
This is a holiday that doesn’t ask anything of you.
No rushing, no complicated plans — just calm surroundings, friendly faces, and the lake always there beside you.
It’s especially well suited if you’re travelling on your own, or if you simply want somewhere that feels easy, familiar, and quietly welcoming.
What your days might feel like
Mornings begin gently with a continental breakfast — pastries, cakes and good Italian coffee, taken inside or outside if the sun’s shining.
From there, the day is entirely yours.
You might wander the promenade, browse the little shops in the Old Town, or simply sit and watch lake life drift by.
If you feel like exploring further, the ferry point is only a few minutes’ walk away, making it easy to take a relaxed boat trip to nearby towns — or just as easily decide to do nothing at all.
In the afternoons, it’s lovely to pause for a gelato from the hotel’s own café, or return to the terrace with a book. Evenings are unhurried, with plenty of friendly local restaurants nearby where dining alone feels completely natural.

Some highlights along the way include:
Best location on the lake
Easy access to other resorts by ferry
Surrounded by restaurants and bars but still quiet
A taste of real Italy
Where you’ll be staying
Hotel Roma sits directly on the promenade in Garda, looking out across Lake Garda.
The hotel itself is small and understated, with just 21 rooms. Inside, everything feels light and calm — soft creams, clean lines, and a relaxed atmosphere that never feels busy or overwhelming.
One of its loveliest features is the lakeside terrace. It’s the sort of place where you can sit with a coffee or a glass of wine, listening to the water lap gently against the shore, perfectly content to stay put.
A few reassuring details
Direct flights from Birmingham to Verona, with a smooth coach transfer of around an hour
The coach drops you about five minutes’ walk from the hotel — manageable, with taxi help available if you prefer
Bed & Breakfast included, with a takeaway breakfast provided on departure day
Staff are used to solo guests and create a calm, welcoming atmosphere
Garda is walkable, safe, and easy to settle into
Tourist tax is payable locally (around €2 per person, per night)
Final Thoughts
This is the kind of holiday where you don’t have to be brave or busy.
You can go slowly, sit often, and let the lake set the pace.
If you’re looking for somewhere that feels manageable, comforting, and quietly beautiful, I think Garda — and Hotel Roma — could be a very kind place to begin
