In-depth Antarctica, Falklands & South Georgia

An expedition cruise to the ends of the Earth aboard MS Fram

Day 1 – Santiago de Chile
Begin your journey in Chile’s vibrant capital, framed by the Andes. Explore colourful markets, grand plazas, colonial architecture, or take in panoramic views from the Sky Costanera tower.

Day 2 – Punta Arenas & Embarkation
Fly south to Punta Arenas and board your expedition ship. Settle into your cabin, explore the decks, and meet the Expedition Team who will be your guides, companions, and storytellers for the weeks ahead.

Day 3 – Strait of Magellan
Cruise through this iconic strait, where dramatic landscapes hint at the adventures to come. Join lectures and Citizen Science projects in the onboard Science Centre, or simply soak in the views from deck or lounge.

Days 4–6 – Falkland Islands
Windswept beauty and abundant birdlife await in this remote archipelago. Walk among penguin and albatross colonies, spot seals on the beaches, and wander through Stanley’s cathedral, gardens, and maritime museum.

Days 7–8 – At Sea towards South Georgia
Cross open seas as your Expedition Team shares stories of explorers, whalers, and the incredible wildlife that calls South Georgia home. Look out for seabirds following the ship’s wake.

Days 9–12 – South Georgia
Known as the “Serengeti of the Southern Ocean,” South Georgia teems with life. Vast colonies of king penguins, seals, and seabirds crowd the shores. Weather permitting, visit Grytviken, where Sir Ernest Shackleton rests. Each day brings flexible landings or zodiac cruises, always guided by conditions and wildlife.

Days 13–15 – At Sea towards Antarctica
Take time to relax, reflect, and prepare for the White Continent. Join talks, photography workshops, or Citizen Science projects that highlight the unique environment you’re about to experience.

Days 16–19 – Antarctic Peninsula & South Shetlands
Your first glimpse of Antarctica is unforgettable: sculpted icebergs, soaring seabirds, and penguins gathering on snowy shores. Explore a range of possible landing sites — volcanic calderas, icy bays, or remote islands. Optional activities may include kayaking among icebergs or snowshoeing to breathtaking viewpoints. Every day is different, shaped by nature, but each promises wonder.

Days 20–22 – Drake Passage & Beagle Channel
As you sail north, relive memories from the Falklands, South Georgia, and Antarctica. Relax in the hot tubs or lounge, edit your photos, and watch for wildlife along the scenic Beagle Channel, where mountains plunge into icy waters.

Day 23 – Punta Arenas & Return Home
Your expedition ends in Punta Arenas, where you’ll disembark and fly back to Santiago for your onward flight home. You leave with new friends, unforgettable images, and the immense privilege of having explored one of Earth’s last true wildernesses.
